Through multiple iterations and community feedback—including detailed reviews by Rose Anvil—we've continuously refined the design toward our goal of creating the world's best minimalist sneaker.
Its predecessor, the **[SF-01v3](https://www.archibaldlondon.com/**/collection/product/the-sf-01-v3-sneakers-in-calfskin--whitewwhitesole)**, marked a significant milestone: production moved to Corridonia, Italy, incorporating all learnings from previous releases with upgrades including a full-grain leather floorboard, improved lining materials, and a refined heel silhouette for a more captured fit.
**The SF-01 v3.5** takes this proven foundation one step further. We've replaced the cushioned insole with a natural coconut fiber insole with leather lining - an upgrade we believe delivers superior performance for daily wear. Coconut fiber offers exceptional breathability, natural moisture-wicking properties, and antibacterial benefits that synthetic cushioning cannot match. Unlike foam-based insoles that compress and lose their structure over time, coconut fiber maintains its integrity while molding to your unique foot shape, improving comfort with every wear.
Made from the finest Italian Nappa calfskin, each hide purposefully selected for its softness and durability. These leathers are vegetable re-tanned, meaning they contain a small number of chromium salts which helps maintain their longevity as well as the integrity of the color.

As skills are passed from generation to generation there is an insistence to remain in-touch with developments in technology to ensure that both worlds, old and new are always respected in order to achieve the highest quality, most comfortable and longest lasting purpose built shoes. Currently led by the granddaughter of the founder, it was clear from our first interaction that this team of masters fully understood our raison d'etre at Archibald and relished an opportunity to work with us and allow more people to experience the difference their expertise and craft can make in terms of end-product.
##A specially selected uniquely soft yet durable, combination-tanned Italian calfskin is meticulously hand-cut to form the upper, which is then stitched to the Italian- sourced Margom rubber sole.
For the v3, we looked to substantially upgrade the skin from the one that received rave reviews in the v1 (the v2 did not offer a calfskin option) as we were convinced we could do better. It took us four months to find this wonderful tannery that makes this incredibly luxurious calfskin which undergoes two tanning processes and achieves the white colour using minimal chromium salts. The soft leather acclimates to your foot almost immediately and provides an unparalleled level of comfort and quality.
