Woven in Borgosesia, Italy
Founded in 1938 by Luigi Colombo, there is certain strictness that permeates through this one family-owned establishment that immediately recalls our very fortunate routes dealing with the optical Takumi of Sabae. Work, in these parts, is the value that affects life and behaviour. A job is done with heart and discipline, a pursuit of perfection. We encountered Lanficio Colombo when searching for the best possible cashmere material for our Women’s Belted Coat. What we found changed the way we value the noble fibres completely. Everything Lanficio Colombo managed to do with cashmere is nothing short of incredible, so much so that it is quite difficult to even articulate. It is the result of achieving a perfect balance between contrasts - the merging of modernity and tradition that allows noble fibres such as cashmere, guanaco and vicuna to be turned into a unique experience for enjoyment without a hint of pretension. The mill has even made a large pledge towards using more sustainable processes and adheres to the most ethical principles with respect for both nature and man. This is the highest quality offering on Archibald and we are resigned to accepting we will find nothing better.
