Handcrafted in Italy

In the valleys of the breathtaking Piedmont region lies what many consider to be Italy's textile mecca: Biella. In this small town sits a family run operation that has, for just short of three centuries, been producing the finest knitwear in Italy. There has been a long standing debate in the world of luxury about which country of the two titans of knitwear, Italy or Scotland, is truly the best. Truthfully, it depends on the product. Where the Scottish may triumph in heavy knits, the Italian masters trump them with blends and lightweight stitches. Whatever the case, with over 10 generations of the highest class of artisans at the helm, who boast an order book of clients that are some of the most sought after luxury houses in the world... you can't really go wrong.

##Vicuña is the rarest fibre in the world, with availability closely monitored by Peruvian authorities and the select few brands that offer it for sale. The process of transforming fibres into fabric starts with a tradition dating back to the ancient Incas, according to which individual strands are sorted carefully by hand. These fibres then arrive at our mill where they are woven into impeccable pieces by craftsmen, who pride themselves on the care and attention they dedicate to everything they produce. Known as the gold of the Andes, vicuña is the rarest animal fibre in the world — four to five times softer to the touch than human hair. Only 1lb of hair is produced by an adult vicuña per year, making it extremely rare and closely monitored by Peruvian authorities. This singularly special midweight stole is meticulously woven by master craftsmen in Biella, in Italy's Piedmont region, and presented in its natural, undyed shade — a warm, luminous tone unique to the vicuña fibre itself.

The weight of this item is approximately 170–180 grams.
