Depuis plus d'un siècle, Ubrique abrite une industrie de maroquinerie qui fournit des maisons telles que Loewe, Louis Vuitton et Gucci. Au sein de la ville, nous avons découvert une petite entreprise familiale universellement reconnue comme étant la meilleure du secteur. Ces artisans, avons-nous découvert, travaillent secrètement sur des pièces et des projets spéciaux pour les marques de luxe les plus prestigieuses au monde depuis les années 40. Design Note

In a deep navy, the Passepartout offers a subtle distinction from the expected black — dark enough for formality but with a richness that catches the light differently. The navy calfskin develops depth over time as the vegetable tan matures. With one of the most loyal sidekicks in contemporary fiction as its namesake, it was natural that our first foray into small leather goods worked alongside the item on which we built our early reputation. Designed and crafted to conveniently complement your sunglasses, the Passepartout is meticulously handcrafted by one of the oldest and most respected leather workshops in Ubrique, Spain, using only the very finest Spanish vegetable-tanned calfskin.

Amidst the spectacular Serrania de Ronda mountains of the southern Cadiz province of Spain lies the beautiful and unassumingly important town of Ubrique. For more than a century Ubrique has been quietly operating a leather crafting industry that supplies labels such as Loewe, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Within the town walls we came across the small family-owned concern that is universally recognised as being the best in the business. These people, we discovered, have been secretly working on pieces and special projects for the world's most prestigious luxury brands since the '40s. And now, we were thrilled to hear them confirm, they were going to do the same for Archibald.

The craftsmen we work with have been instructed to avoid compromise and use only the very best full-grain Spanish calfskin.

This is not as simple as it sounds, because the first pick of the best leather from each of Europe's top tanneries is reserved for the established luxury houses. We circumvented the challenge by persuading our newfound friends in Ubrique to purchase our leather alongside what they would normally purchase for the traditional retail clientele.
