Handmade in Wales

Founded in 1892, Corgi has been making its exquisite products for over 100 years. Hand-knitting machines that have been present since day one sit alongside 21st century tech on the workshop floor, combining the best of traditional making with modern innovation. The company continues to be family-owned, and is based in the same Welsh mining village where it was founded. You’ll notice all Corgi products come with a ‘made in Wales’ label, a nod to their pride of place and distinct heritage. They are committed to quality, craft and design above anything- so it’s no wonder they were given a Royal Warrant in 1989.

Product Material

Pure cashmere, throughout- a rare luxury when it comes to hosiery.

Corgi sources their fine cashmere from trusted Italian suppliers, settling for no less than the purest material averaging 16 microns or less in diameter. Long and fine individual hairs make for a product less prone to pilling and splicing than low-grade or imitation offerings. Corgi's sourcing model represents a process where fibre is processed and spun by specialist European mills before being delivered to Wales for knitting and finishing, becoming a garment.

Nobody likes a lumpy sock, so Corgi's finest have mastered the near-invisible hand-linked toe.

You’ll notice the near undetectable toe seam, made using traditional hand-linking. It’s a tricky process that takes months to master, and which only a few of the top artisans at Corgi are entrusted with.
