Actuellement dirigé par la petite-fille du fondateur, il était clair dès notre première interaction que cette équipe de maîtres comprenait parfaitement notre raison d'être chez Archibald et saisissait l'opportunité de travailler avec nous et de permettre à plus de personnes de découvrir la différence que leur expertise et leur savoir-faire peuvent faire en termes de produit final.

##Un cuir de veau italien à tannage végétal, spécialement sélectionné, d'une douceur unique tout en étant durable, est méticuleusement découpé à la main pour former la tige, qui est ensuite cousue à la semelle en caoutchouc. Le cuir de veau offre un mélange unique de confort, de protection et de longévité dès le premier port. Le cuir à tannage végétal est une matière magnifique qui développera au fil du temps une patine unique, racontant presque l'histoire de son parcours avec vous. Design Note

The SF-01 was created for the Styleforum community by its members. The first release, though an overwhelming success wasn't perfect and we didn't quite reach our aim of creating the world's best minimalist sneaker. Incorporating feedback from the forum community, rectifying design flaws, improving materials and addressing everything discovered by Rose Anvil in his first video - you can say the subsequent version, the v2 was entirely a team effort - and with it's release and outstanding feedback, we thought we had done it.

Fast forward a few months, a discovery of dishonesty from the shoemaker on other products being delivered as well as a second video review by Rose Anvil himself identifying two additional areas for improvement - a full-grain leather floorboard (instead of split leather) and improved lining leather and we decided it was time for the v3.

The SF-01 v3 is made in Corridonia, Italy and therefore we have not only all the learnings from the original maker, the community, the two releases, and the two videos by Rose Anvil but also additional input from the lovely family responsible for our GAT sneakers. We have amended the silhouette slightly to provide a more snug and captured fit on the heel. The SF-01 v3 marries a sleek and contemporary silhouette with centuries of inherited artistry. With uppers crafted from a selection of the finest leathers, each hand-cut and stitched before being stitched to a springy Margom sole with an all leather floorboard.

Whilst developing the v3, we searched far and wide across tanneries in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy for the very best full vegetable tanned white leathers in order to fulfill our promise. What we found is an offering from a small, heritage tannery in Italy that was head and shoulders above the rest. A fully vegetable-tanned leather will never achieve the brilliant white colour that revived the classic minimalist sneaker, however offers something much different. This skin is slightly off-white and thus we have paired it with special undyed cotton laces.

If your purchase is not exactly what you are looking for, you have 28 days from receiving your order to exchange or return and send your items back to us as long as you have not requested any alterations or special customizations.

However all made-to-order items or those ordered as part of the backed-by-you service, and products made of special materials such as Vicuna or Shell Cordovan are final sales and cannot be returned, safe for the rare occurrence that the item is defective in some way.

In the case a return is required due to size or simply because the product is not to your liking, however, we do offer a service where we can make the item orderable for another customer and sell it forward for you providing it is kept in pristine condition.

Located in Corridonia, Italy is a small family owned and operated atelier that has been making exceptional footwear with a focus on quality and construction since 1905. Excellence in shoemaking has been an obsession and never-ending quest that has spanned three generations of this family. As skills are passed from generation to generation there is an insistence to remain in-touch with developments in technology to ensure that both worlds, old and new are always respected in order to achieve the highest quality, most comfortable and longest lasting purpose built shoes. Currently led by the granddaughter of the founder, it was clear from our first interaction that this team of masters fully understood our raison d'etre at Archibald and relished an opportunity to work with us and allow more people to experience the difference their expertise and craft can make in terms of end-product.

#A specially selected, uniquely soft, yet durable, fully vegetable-tanned Italian calfskin is meticulously hand-cut to form the upper, which is then stitched to the rubber sole. The calfskin promises a unique blend of comfort, protection, and longevity from the moment you wear them. Vegetable-tanned leather is a beautiful thing and will form a unique patina over time that will almost tell the story of it's journey with you. The soft leather acclimates to your foot almost immediately and provides an unparalleled level of comfort and quality.
