Handcrafted eyewear from Sabae, Japan was the debut product on Archibald. In late 2019, one of the lead coordinators who managed the 16 different craftsmen across several workshops that built each of our frames was in a car accident and required spinal surgery (and prolonged recovery), and in 2021, we lost our lead craftsman, Nishino, to Covid-19. As this unfolded, we had a large restock order in train, which, on account of these events, we have yet to take delivery of.
Since November of last year, our production coordinator has resumed, striving to revive both his business and complete the outstanding pieces for Archibald, restarting our eyewear venture. Part of our production order included new colourways for some of our most popular styles, and these were prepared in advance with the intent to unveil them alongside the remaining items upon receipt. Together, we have elected to release these first.
Over 200 manual processes accomplished by 16 different craftsmen, each proficient in a particular facet — these were the products that originally showed us what true quality and craftsmanship represent.
As with all our eyewear, each pair is available with prescription or sunglasses lens options in an assortment of colours — for display we have listed each with clear lenses as eyewear and with one of the three lens colours we offer in the sunglasses collection. Ships to Hong Kong.
