14 Oz Selvedge Denim Jeans (One Wash)

These classic Straight-cut denim jeans are woven in Kojima, Japan, using hand-picked cotton. Our craftsmen use a hand-powered shuttle loom which gives each pair their distinguished selvedge finish, a world renowned mark of premium quality denim that prevents fraying, ravelling and curling. The 14oz weight offers the ideal middle ground - substantial enough to develop striking high-contrast fades and personalized wear patterns, while remaining comfortable for daily wear. Once broken in, these jeans offer a luxuriously comfortable fit that only improves with age, molding to your unique body shape over time.

Handcrafted in Japan

Our denim is woven in Kojima, Japan’s denim capital, by master artisans with over half a century's experience in their field. Our craftsmen use traditional hand-powered shuttle looms to produce heavy strips of quality fabric. These strips emerge from the loom finished with tightly woven bands running down each side which prevent the denim from fraying, ravelling and curling. This shuttle-loom finish gives the denim what is known as a 'self-edge', or 'selvedge' finish, widely considered to be a mark of premium denim traditionally made.

##A denim woven on one of Japan's oldest looms - reserved for pieces built to endure. Our cotton is hand-selected to ensure high material purity and minimal fibre damage, with only the longest, highest quality fibres used. The yarn is dyed using a pure indigo rope-dyeing process, where the indigo penetrates only the outer layers of each fibre, creating a rich surface colour that gradually fades to reveal the undyed core beneath - the hallmark of authentic, natural indigo ageing.

Woven on the TOYODA G3 loom - the oldest shuttle loom currently in active operation - this fabric carries the unmistakable character of vintage Japanese denim. The high-density 7×6 count weave creates a substantial, durable fabric, while carefully developed yarn irregularities replicate the organic texture found in heritage denim, giving the fabric its authentic vintage character.

Material

##What makes them so special? A pair of jeans made to last for decades - some of the most resistant and eventually comfortable jeans out there. Denim was originally popularised in the early 20th century by American labourers who required resilient clothing that could withstand the tough working conditions they faced on the job. As denim became more popular and more widely produced, the fabric lost its working connotations. Most brands began weaving thinner denim fabrics using machinery made to facilitate mass production in order to reduce costs and increase profit margins.

After construction, our denim undergoes a single low-temperature wash - a deliberate choice to preserve both the depth of indigo color and the fabric's natural hand feel. Unlike standard industrial washing, which uses high heat and causes significant color loss, this gentler process removes only the sizing while maintaining the character needed for authentic fading. The fabric remains true to size yet retains the slight stiffness and rich color that allows for high-contrast, personalized wear patterns to develop over time.
