The Telegram Collared Jacket in Buttery Soft Suede

We've named it the Telegram because that's where it was conceived - in [this group on Telegram](https://t.me/+ox1xDDpSDwUzMThk) Our first community-designed jacket, the Telegram is a simple, clean-cut collared jacket that puts the material and craftsmanship under the spotlight. From silhouette to features, this was put together by a group of Archibald customers spearheading the design detail. Fully handmade by master jacket makers in East London using the finest buttery-soft suede and finished with Riri hardware, this is quite simply an exquisitely crafted piece with no compromise taken. We considered changing the zipper to a two-way zipper, but decided to instead stick with the one-way following some advice from our friends at Richard James who experienced two-way zippers causing problems in catching. The jacket fits true-to-size, and we recommend choosing your normal jacket size. The sample photographed is a Size 38 and the gentleman wearing it normally wears a size 40.

The Telegram Collared Jacket in Buttery Soft Suede

##Made in east London East London is renowned for its 300-year history of sartorial excellence, originating from the arrival of Huguenot silk weavers fleeing France to Spitalfields in 1685. With big brands moving production to South-East Asia (where they’ve taken advantage of lower costs, lax labour laws and quality control), the Spitalfields area has experienced a steep decline in the manufacturing of high-end clothing and footwear. We are lucky to be working with one of the only remaining workshops specialising in garment production using the finest Italian and Spanish leathers. Experienced craftsmen from the golden age of East End garment-making bring decades of expertise to our timeless collection of leather jackets and coats.

##Not all suede is created equal. The soft, supple kind of the finest quality is hard to come by, and we’re lucky our East End artisans know how to source it. A smooth, uniform nap sets apart good suede from shaggy, course variations. Suede’s unique properties mean it is both incredibly soft, and highly durable.

Material

Waves of immigration combined with abject poverty, rapid industrialisation, and political activism to turn the East End into a crucible of cultural expression.

Take an iconic jacket, and make it to the highest possible standard. So good you’ll bequeath it to a loved one. We’ve given our craftsmen the strictest instruction to not compromise on any part of the making process. Put it on for today’s journey and tomorrow’s adventure - que sera sera, mate.
