Named after Abebe Bikila, the famed Ethiopian runner who won the 1960 Olympic Marathon barefoot, the Abebe in Tortoise is cut from a single sheet of Japanese acetate by Takiron Rowland in a warm, classic tortoiseshell — an even blend of amber, honey, and brown that has made this colourway one of the most enduring in eyewear. The squared lenses and architectural bridge create the strong lines the Abebe is known for, suiting those with rounder faces. Each pair is shaped in Sabae, Japan over six weeks and more than 200 manual processes.
