The SF-01 was created for the Styleforum community by its members. Through multiple iterations and detailed community feedback, we’ve continuously refined the design toward our goal of creating the world’s best minimalist sneaker. Its predecessor, the [SF-01 v3](/collection/product/the-sf-01-v3-sneakers-in-calfskin), marked a significant milestone when production moved to Corridonia, Italy. The v3.5 builds on that foundation at the same family-run atelier, now with over a century of shoemaking expertise. The upper is cut from combination-tanned supple Italian calfskin, paired with Italian calfskin lining, a full-grain leather floorboard, and padded leather-lined insoles. A minimalist sneaker, made without compromise.

Located in Corridonia, Italy is a small family owned and operated atelier that has been making exceptional footwear with a focus on quality and construction since 1905. Excellence in shoemaking has been an obsession and never-ending quest that has spanned three generations of this family. As skills are passed from generation to generation there is an insistence to remain in-touch with developments in technology to ensure that both worlds, old and new are always respected in order to achieve the highest quality, most comfortable and longest lasting purpose built shoes. Currently led by the granddaughter of the founder, it was clear from our first interaction that this team of masters fully understood our raison d'etre at Archibald and relished an opportunity to work with us and allow more people to experience the difference their expertise and craft can make in terms of end-product.
##A specially selected uniquely soft yet durable, combination-tanned Italian calfskin is meticulously hand-cut to form the upper, which is then stitched to the Italian- sourced Margom rubber sole.
For the v3, we looked to substantially upgrade the skin from the one that received rave reviews in the v1 (the v2 did not offer a calfskin option) as we were convinced we could do better. It took us four months to find this wonderful tannery that makes this incredibly luxurious calfskin which undergoes two tanning processes and achieves the white colour using minimal chromium salts. The soft leather acclimates to your foot almost immediately and provides an unparalleled level of comfort and quality.
