Colombo Cashmere

This is Colombo’s cashmere: the fine down fibre of the cashmere goat, selected, dyed, spun, woven and finished by a single house at its mills in Borgosesia and Ghemme. Cashmere is prized for being extraordinarily soft, light and warm for its weight; how good the finished cloth feels depends less on the word “cashmere” than on the grade of fibre chosen and the care taken at every step after it. Because Colombo runs the whole chain itself — one of the world’s largest specialists in cashmere and noble fibres — it controls that quality from the raw fibre to the finished cloth.

A throw or a cushion is a pure expression of the cloth — there is nothing else to it, so the fibre and the finish are everything. We wanted cashmere with real substance and drape: soft to the hand, but with enough weight to sit and fold properly. That is what a fully integrated cashmere house delivers, and it is what the Archibald x Colombo throws and cushion are made from.
