The ULTRALight was conceived in the aftermath of the SF-01 v2. We enlisted the help of the other family of Italian artisan shoemakers (who fortunately later took over our entire program), and after studying our final submission for the v2, they suggested some improvements and also that we make a version with a Strobel construction (for comfort and flexibility) and an extra-light sole instead - it sounded interesting and when the first sample arrived it blew our minds. The artisans had altered the silhouette to make it sleeker than the SF-01 and R happened to say, "you know these sort of feel like ultra-luxury converse chucks, but something is missing" and then came his one (only) inspired moment "get rid of the lining, lets go unlined and unstructured".
The final sample arrived three weeks later, and the rest is history... it's a pair that becomes an instant favourite of everyone who has worn it.
The ULTRALight sneakers are handmade in Corridonia, Italy by a specialist family of craftsmen. The upper is handcut from an unbelievably soft but durable, unlined deerskin before it is attached to an Italian-sourced, incredibly lightweight sole via a strobel construction which gives the shoe an unbelievably comfortable, light, and cooling wear.

A luxuriously supple Italian-tanned unlined pebbled deerskin is used to form the wonderfully unstructured upper which is then stitched to an Italian-made, ultralight sole.
Deerskin promises an experience like no other - a unique blend of comfort, protection, and longevity from the moment you wear them. The softer, unlined leather acclimates to your foot almost immediately and provides an unparalleled level of comfort. The Italian-made soles are outstandingly comfortable and complement the choice of construction on the sneakers - strobel - which keeps the pair incredibly flexible, reducing any strain on the foot. Finally, to top it all off, we have selected a unique and comfortable removable leather-lined insole made of coconut fibers.
