Cariaggi Cashmere

Cashmere is the fine, soft undercoat combed once a year from the Capra hircus goat, growing finest where goats endure strong temperature swings such as Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. Cariaggi sources exceptionally fine fibre from these regions and processes it with more than sixty years of combing, de-hairing, carding and spinning experience — precisely aligning fibres and controlling hairiness and pilling to produce a soft, buttery, next-to-skin hand.

Cariaggi is globally recognised for cashmere quality and consistency, offering very fine weights, low prickle and low pilling, in both woolen (carded) and worsted (combed) constructions — from airy and fluffy to sleek and clean. Its high yardage per weight (around 2/28Nm, ~1,400 m / 100 g) translates into lightweight, luxurious fabrics.

We chose it for that combination of fineness, consistency and colour depth — Cariaggi maintains hundreds of cashmere shades and excels at stock-dyed mélange blending — giving our knitwear a refined hand that holds up over time.
