In a rich, deep burgundy that gains warmth and character as the nubuck wears in over time. A classic cardholder handmade in Ubrique, Spain — a small town tucked into the Serrania de Ronda mountains where a century-old leather crafting tradition quietly supplies houses like Loewe and Louis Vuitton. Cut from the finest sanded-down top-grain Spanish calfskin nubuck, sourced from the same first-pick European tannery hides normally reserved for those very houses. The burgundy develops a depth of color that only true nubuck delivers — a velvet texture you genuinely have to feel to believe. Something a little different for all the right reasons, and a cardholder that spoils you every time you reach for it. Ships to the United States. Free returns.
Handcrafted in Spain
Amidst the spectacular Serrania de Ronda mountains of the southern Cadiz province of Spain lies the beautiful and unassumingly important town of Ubrique. For more than a century Ubrique has been quietly operating a leather crafting industry that supplies labels such as Loewe, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Within the town walls we came across the small family-owned concern that is universally recognised as being the best in the business. These people, we discovered, have been secretly working on pieces and special projects for the world's most prestigious luxury brands since the '40s. And now, we were thrilled to hear them confirm, they were going to do the same for Archibald.
##For the Nubuck collection, the craftsmen have been instructed to use only the very best sanded down top-grain Spanish calf-skin with no compromise.
Nubuck is a special leather where the grain side is sanded down to reveal short protein fibers and produce an amazing velvet touch. However, this is not as simple as it might sound as the first pick from Europe's top tanneries are generally reserved for the traditional high luxury houses. In order to circumvent this barrier, our partners have made arrangement to purchase leather for Archibald alongside orders being fulfilled for their other partners. Although this does limit the colours we might have available to us, it ensures that we only provide you with the very best.

##The kind of slow and precise artisanship found in Ubrique is dying out and is increasingly hard to find.
Although technology has been embraced by some of the craftsmen, most have rejected it and carry on in the revered, time-honoured way that has been passed down from generation to generation. The established luxury industry has long strived to keep the work and proud heritage of Ubrique to itself, but now you can discover it too.
