##Made in east London East London is renowned for its 300-year history of sartorial excellence, originating from the arrival of Huguenot silk weavers fleeing France to Spitalfields in 1685. With big brands moving production to South-East Asia (where they’ve taken advantage of lower costs, lax labour laws and quality control), the Spitalfields area has experienced a steep decline in the manufacturing of high-end clothing and footwear. We are lucky to be working with one of the only remaining workshops specialising in garment production using the finest Italian and Spanish leathers. Experienced craftsmen from the golden age of East End garment-making bring decades of expertise to our timeless collection of leather jackets and coats.

##Only expert craftsmen with a discerning eye know how to select the finest lamb pelts, handling and cutting them with extreme care. Sourced from Spain, the shearling (which is the skin of a recently shorn lamb tanned with the wool left one) our craftsmen use is exquisitely soft and enduringly warm, with up to three pelts used for each of our longer coats. Tanning high quality shearling is a desperately tricky process, which is why the ubiquity of low grade or imitation shearling on sale is so high. There’s evidence that shearling coats were as popular in the Iron Age as they are today- now that’s what we call an enduring classic.
