SS - Rounded Induction Two Handle Pot in Copper Ø26cm, Height 12cm w/LID

A 26 cm deep copper pot with two brass handles, hand-hammered by Andrea and his family in Ravina, Italy. At 12 cm deep, this is the piece you reach for when something needs to cook low and slow — stews, braises, stock, anything that rewards patience. The body is 2 mm solid copper, fire-tinned on the inside using the traditional method. The tin lining is nonreactive and naturally renewable — when it wears through after years of heavy use, it gets re-tinned by hand rather than replaced. A ferromagnetic base plate is bonded to the underside for induction hob compatibility, the two brass handles are riveted with copper, and the lid is included. Copper conducts heat five times better than iron, which at this depth means genuinely even cooking from base to rim. Ships to the United States. Free returns.

##Handmade in Italy Nestled in the arresting Adige River Valley is the medieval city of Trento, renowned as a cultural and political hub in Northern Italy. It’s a unique place with a time honoured commitment to craftsmanship and an eye to the future, where culture and craft mix with new ideas. Andrea opened his copper workshop at the age of sixteen with over three generations of metalwork to his family name. He’s committed to preserving the traditional skills passed down in his family, working his beautiful pieces entirely by hand to make sure each is just right. Andrea has made sure that his children and grandchildren understand the nuances and subtleties of metalwork just as intuitively, working alongside them so that his time honoured craft is preserved well into the future.

##For over 9,000 years, copper has been mankind’s go-to material for cookware. It’s recognised by master chefs as the best, ensuring meals are cooked evenly and slowly. Copper is highly resistant to corrosion, conducting heat five times better than iron and 20 times better than stainless steel, with naturally antibacterial properties. In short; an all rounder, and a kitchen must have.

Material

##Hand-hammered by artisans committed to perfection in each piece, cooking with copper is an experience like no other.

There’s just no comparing hand-made copper to the mass manufactured alternative. A true artisan with a discerning touch ensures that the metal is worked to perfection and melded together securely to last for years to come.
