For our first extension of the ULTRALight series, we decided to make a pair that is visually unmistakably Archibald.
Inspired (in part by such classics as the Nike Cortez or Mexco 66 by Onitsuka Tiger, this pair is our interpretation of an elevated version that classic form. We've put all our learnings from the ULTRAlights and GATs into this pair, which shares a similar construction and purpose, just this time it's a little less minimal, more "Archi" - most notably the side overlay reworked into a subtle expression of our “A” motif, offering a refined visual identity without overpowering the design.
This version is crafted from premium Italian nappa calfskin, selected for its smooth handle, durability, and ability to age gracefully. Vegetable re-tanned to preserve colour and structure. Finished with a French-made Lactae Hevea sole, the result is a sneaker that balances lightness, flexibility, and comfort with a more polished, long-term character.

Excellence in shoemaking has been an obsession and never-ending quest that has spanned three generations of this family. As skills are passed from generation to generation there is an insistence to remain in-touch with developments in technology to ensure that both worlds, old and new are always respected in order to achieve the highest quality, most comfortable and longest lasting purpose built shoes. Currently led by the granddaughter of the founder, it was clear from our first interaction that this team of masters fully understood our raison d'etre at Archibald and relished an opportunity to work with us and allow more people to experience the difference their expertise and craft can make in terms of end-product.

The leather adapts immediately to the foot, offering instantaneous comfort while maintaining structure over time, and develops a subtle character with wear. Paired with the exceptionally lightweight and flexible Lactae Hevea sole, the result is a sneaker that balances everyday practicality with a distinctly elevated feel.
