Why we chose them
The company traces its roots to 1952, when Mario Aimone established Marchigiana Gomma. It was one of the first companies in Marche to specialize in rubber shoe components. In 1974, his sons Giuseppe and Francesco Aimone founded Margom. This heritage matters, evolving from industrial rubber expertise into a tentpole of reliable Italian rubber-sole production. Margom soles are representative of the truth that rubber ages differently than other materials: it wears rather than collapses, and it maintains its surface character in ways that synthetic compounds don't. For a high-end, quality sneaker, the sole cannot be the weak link. Margom removes that risk.
Another easy talking point about Margom is that the company is still headquartered in Civitanova Marche, the region known as "Shoe Valley". It is widely recognized and used by global luxury houses for footwear production. Margom has seen continuous, stable growth for thirty years, operating as a hub for sole manufacturing worldwide with a focus on premium rubber soles and heels. Margom is embedded in this Italian footwear ecosystem, operating steps away from the factories that use its soles. Today, it remains family-owned and employs roughly 60 people. About 80% of production serves Italian footwear manufacturers, with exports reaching more than 15 countries.
Proximity to artisan manufacturing is not a trivial advantage; it means faster iteration and better quality control. The partnerships born and maintained here over decades are the watershed of why manufacturing in Italy, in the heart of this footwear community, is something that can’t be replicated. Artisans are born into this world of craftsmanship. inherited and maintained, rather than built from scratch and taught as it is in other countries.
